Everyone works there is friendly and helpful, feels like going home when abroad oneself. The environment and facilities are clean and complete. I love staying there, and will be back again.
There's nothing really make me unsatisfied. Only a reminder to whom are going to stay here, take the exit a at XiSi subway station, then walk about 10 minutes to reach there.

Chinese box makes you really feel at home, and they always try to help you out. Besides that they arrange activities like dumpling night so you get to know other travellers as well. Also the cooking was excellent. They look after people which is really nice. The hostel is also cleaned several times a day.
Which comes with being in a hutong is that you have to cross the courtyard to reach the toilet and shower facilities. I don't mind.

The staff is very pleasant and helpfull. Although location seems in the beginning not ideal, it is the contrary once you know the bus numbers and tube entrance. The courtyard is a peace of silence in the noisy city. You really enjoy this after a day wandering around.
We booked a private room first with a good shower. The bed was on the hard side of the matras universe. As we extend our stay we had a dorm afterwards with better beds, but a shared shower for the same price. However the staff and cousiness made us stay for a few extra nights.

Excellent location within walking distance of Beihai park and the forbidden city. It is very close to Xisi subway station on line 4. Xisi station is only 6 stops north of the Beijing South railway station on line 4. Friendly, helpful staff.

I stayed with a friend in a double room with private bathroom. The room was decorated very nicely and the room was bigger than a king size, which has never been the case in past experiences with hostels and double rooms. We could easily have fit 2 extra people in the bed comfortably. Everything was clean, they even gave us towels! The staff was super nice and spoke English. There were two public computers for use as well as wifi access. The subway is about a 10 minute walk. The room was very quiet and away from the main streets.
